Frequently Asked Questions

Create, edit, and export with confidence.

Before you start

Which Macs does Intro Lab support?

The current requirement is an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS Ventura 13.5 or later. Intel Macs and macOS Monterey are not supported by the current stem engine.

Is Intro Lab a plug-in or a standalone app?

Intro Lab is a standalone Mac app. You can create, edit, preview, and export your arrangement without opening a DAW.

Beta access & activation

Where do I download the beta?

Sign in with the GetMyRemix account enrolled in the private beta and use the protected beta download. Access depends on your account; the product page does not grant beta access by itself.

Does the app need an internet connection?

Audio analysis and stem creation run locally on your Mac. Internet is used for activation and periodic license verification.

Creating intros

How do I create an intro automatically?

Load the song, place cue zero on the first musical downbeat, and keep Auto Intro enabled. Double-click the 4-, 8-, or 16-bar phrase cue to build the intro. Dragging a cue adjusts timing instead of building.

How does manual creation work?

Set cue zero, choose Instrumental or Acapella and a phrase length, then drag from the Full Song region title strip into the Intro Layer. Position the gold ghost and click Build on the placed region.

Can I combine instrumental and acapella clips?

Yes. Each clip has its own source choice. Build separate instrumental and acapella clips and use them together in the arrangement. There is no separate Both source button.

Editing & timing

Does the grid follow changing tempo?

The adaptive grid follows tempo changes instead of forcing identical bar lengths. Check the waveform and listen to the result. If needed, add or adjust a manual timing cue to refine local alignment.

Does turning Snap off remove the grid?

No. Snap off allows free placement, trimming, and cutting; it does not remove the grid or change the song tempo. Hold Command for a temporary snap bypass during supported edits.

How do I add or remove a cue?

Add Grid adds a manual timing cue at the playhead. You can also double-click an empty position in the cue strip. Drag a manual cue to adjust it; double-click it to remove it. Clear All removes manual cues.

Can I rearrange parts of the original song?

Yes. Split Full Song regions with Scissors and move the resulting regions by their title strips. Bring a hook or bridge earlier or move a verse later. You identify the sections; the app does not label them automatically.

Export & metadata

Which export format should I choose?

Choose WAV for uncompressed audio or MP3 for a smaller file. Intro Lab encodes MP3 at 320 kbps. Listen to the exported result in the software you intend to use.

What metadata is included?

Export uses the source artist and title, adds the edit description to the title, and writes Intro Lab artwork and an Intro Lab / GetMyRemix comment. Do not expect every original tag or the original cover to be preserved. Metadata display depends on the player or DJ library.
